My wife leaned onto her laptop when it was closed and when she opened it the monitor was broken. It's cracked and there is like an 'inkblot' and crack lines extending from the lower corner. It only obscures about half the screen so her boss said she can still use it to work if she is able to see the workpage. I'm just wondering if this is dangerous? What are the screens made out of and is she going to be exposed to anything ?
Thanks in advance.

SpaceCowboy - just want to defend the boss, she's really a cool chick and my wife *wanted* extra hours and would need to send away for a new laptop and would lose the day of extra work, so my wife *wanted* to work on the broken laptop, lol. I think they're both just ignorant to the dangers and I myself wasn't sure, I tend to overreact lol so wanted some backup on the issue - lol. Anyway thanks for the answers :)
