Hardware - January 2007

My friend bought a Dell Celeron laptop a year or two ago and has constant problems with it. It overheats, corrupt system files, won't boot up, all those constantly happen to her. Did she get a lemon or has this happened to others? I've had to reinstall Windows for her like 5 or more times, that is rediculous.

My new HP computer came with Intel 3000 video card and I decided to purchase a true video card like Geforce 6700GT 256 MB or Radeon 1650 PRO 512 MB, yet I can’t decide which one is better? Any help will be appreciated!

All I had to do was install the ram card and power it up, Then I find out I nned to setup sometyhing called bio settings. I dont want some weired guy coming over my house who is gonna charge me 250 bucks just for pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete, either. So if any one out there can help, I'd be greatfull. happy new year all! i have a CANON BJC-250 Color Bubble Jet Printer and Windows 97, i have a color cartridge on it but it won't print in color. i go to printers>properties, but there is no color or black&white option. any ideas anyone?

Okay my laptop is old and I need to know a way to fix it. The person that gave me the laptopm reformatted it but never fixed the problem. So all it does at the moment is start up and go to the command screen the last windows on it was windows98 (if it matters) so I need to know how to get it back to where it works.

Well, i need to drive an evaluation board consisting of Atmel's ATMEGA8L microcontroller. This evaluation board is driven from a computer through usb port and serial port, both. For that i have a usb connector (that connects through computer and my circuit) and a serial port (that connects through the serial port of the computer and the circuit) present at the back side of the PC's usually. In my PC, there is no serial port.. I have bought a usb-to-serial convertor cable, but i am still not able to drive that evaluation board through serial port as it helps in transmitting the data from computer to serial port of the circuit.. If somebody out there can me help me out in simulating the program from AVR studio4 software (a source editor) to Megaload ( that helps in simulating the ATMEGA8L IC)... Packard Bell Easy Note started to go "blue screen" at least once a day .Sometimes after being on a short time,sometimes after being on for many hours.
Message :
Stop 0x0000007A or KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR - The Stop 0x7A message indicates that a page of kernel data was not found in the paging (virtual memory) file and could not be read into memory. This might be due to incompatible disk or controller drivers, firmware, or hardware.Other error numbers are:
0xC03E77CO,0xC000000E,0xF9DF0130,0x08C38860
Did a system restore and the P.B. site was useless as the links they have on there don't even work. (Fan is working and it does not appear to be an overheating problem.)
Any ideas?
