I've installed Vista a few times & so far it's always offered the option to ugrade or do a fresh install.

Personally, I would not risk compromising the integrity of this great OS (it is to XP Pro what Win95 was to Windows 3.1) by leaving any traces of the previous operating system.

Provided your computer is Vista ready, you could configure a dual boot. I believe you will need at least 2 GB of fre space just to mount Vista. If you want a stable dual boot I would recommend you slave another hard drive and install it there.

Yes because this is not an upgrade CD. What I would do is wait till Vista is out in the field for a while and see if it has any quirks or not.

Depends what OS you have on it. Most likely there will be an upgrade path for XP, 2000, 98.

nope not if you are running xp. should be an option to upgrade or new install.
