My friend bought a Dell Celeron laptop a year or two ago and has constant problems with it. It overheats, corrupt system files, won't boot up, all those constantly happen to her. Did she get a lemon or has this happened to others? I've had to reinstall Windows for her like 5 or more times, that is rediculous.

Two years, check the warranty, call them.
I just brought a cooling fan mat to put my
laptop on. It helps alot. I got it from
amazon.com. It was under $ 10.00.
They do have other prices.
Dell is very helpful. You should have called
them from the very start of the trouble.
I've had a service person come to my house
before.
I forgot. A friend told me she dust her laptop
volume vents about every 2 months with
a can of " Air ". You can get it from a department store.
There are soooooo many things you just
won't know until it happens. A green lettered
screen came on, and said " Dust Volume ".
My first experience with seeing the screen.
Live and learn.
I like Dell. If I ever met Micheal Dell I would
thank him. Dell gave me a chance to own a
Computer when they were sooo expensive.
I think Dells prices help make some of the
other Computer brands lower their prices.

I am no fan of Dell, but that is beside the point. You have to solve the root of the problem first, which I believe is hardware. Corrupt system files could be a result of a hard drive on it's way completely out, or you say it overheats, this could also cause this. Is the fan even running at all or are the vents inside plugged with dust etc?

You need a competent technician to solve this as it could be may things.

I don't think that she got a lemon all Dells are like that. Even the regular computers. We bought a regular Dell and had to return it within two months and it was brand new! I think that Dells are just not good computers!
