use a lightscribe enabled drive to burn label on lightscribe discs with the help of laser used to read the discs

Yes, a lot of newer printers can actually print on printable discs. Also, HP came out with something called Lightscribe which is a disc drive that actually "burns" a picture onto a disc...although it is only black and white and you need lightscribe discs...

With Epson printers, you can print directly to printable media (same cost as standrd disks now) or you have the HP Lightscribe drives which can burn a monochrome image directly on the surface of a disk (needs special media which is expensive). HP is working on color technology.

Use lightscribe technology, it's cheapr than having the disc silkscreened.
