This is a simple way to know who performs the best. If you install Windows XP on a Computer with an AMD CPU, the installation will take approx. 15 minutes; with an Intel Processor it will take approx 30 minutes. Try it.

It depends. I prefer Intel because they designed the x86 ISA, so they know it better than anyone else. I also tend to see consistent performance from them, and better hardware compatibility.

AMD is fine though, they're usually a little cheaper but might not support everything that Intel does (most users won't notice). I had an AMD system once where my video card and sound card had compatibility problems, so I never used one again.

AMD by far. Its typically faster and cheaper than Intel. AMD has the most benefits.

I prefer AMD over Intel...they perform better and are cheaper, you can't go wrong.

the latest dual cores of Intelk are much faster than AMD.

AMD is best bang for buck
Intel, however, outperform AMD if you don't care about the cost.
