My new HP computer came with Intel 3000 video card and I decided to purchase a true video card like Geforce 6700GT 256 MB or Radeon 1650 PRO 512 MB, yet I can’t decide which one is better? Any help will be appreciated!

hey the Geforce card will be much more faster than the radeon but in terms of power, the radeon kills it.

you have to choose within terms of Speed OR Power. 512 mb is enough for the games that are coming out and it will survive the games that are directx10 but it wont play in quality cause it wont support it.so Radeon would be much better and it will save money.

if i were you than i would keep on saving an get the Geforce 7900 or 7950 cards. they pack a punch. ir save for some time like me and get the new GEforce 8800 Gt

save for a direct x 10 card they come out next year. so if you buy a card now then it will be for nothing. keep on saving for the Geforce 8800 then order it online from singapore. its about 250 pounds.

I use a 256mb video card built by XFX, using the Nvidea 6600GT chipset. Not only is Nvidea a great manufacturer, but their accompanying software/user interface is flexible, powerful, and easy to use. I have had NO problems with the GeForce lineup, and would recommend it to anyone! The chipset DOES generate a bit of heat though (the heatsink temp of mine sits around 40c), so be sure your case has decent air flow from front to back. I would suggest using a 120mm (4") fan if you are able to get that heat out of the case.

I've read plenty of posts on the tech forums about bugs in the Radeon cards, yet virtually none about GeForce. That's what led me to buy what I did.

There are not any ameliorations contained in the operating frequencies and layout from the 256 MB version. a minimum of, you are able to't anticipate a drop in performance. The 512 mb basically has the more effective memory skill
