Packard Bell Easy Note started to go "blue screen" at least once a day .Sometimes after being on a short time, sometimes after being on for many hours.
Message :
Stop 0x0000007A or KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR - The Stop 0x7A message indicates that a page of kernel data was not found in the paging (virtual memory) file and could not be read into memory. This might be due to incompatible disk or controller drivers, firmware, or hardware.Other error numbers are:
0xC03E77CO,0xC000000E,0xF9DF0130,0x08C38860
Did a system restore and the P.B. site was useless as the links they have on there don't even work. (Fan is working and it does not appear to be an overheating problem.)
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Laptop is a 2004 model :-(
Taking it back for a refund is not an option sadly!

Hi Lynn, you'll find what you need via here:

http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=Microsoft+Blue+Screen&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a

but I'm not sure which link you actually need to fix it.
Have patience, my friend - you'll get there.

Stop 0x7A is usually caused by a bad block (sector) in a paging file, a virus, a disk controller error, or failing RAM. In rare cases, it is caused when nonpaged pool resources run out. It is also caused by defective hardware.

SCSI problems. If the I/O status is C0000185 and the paging file is on a SCSI disk, check the disk cabling and SCSI termination for problems.

Viruses. Check your computer for viruses, using any up-to-date, commercial virus scanning software that examines the Master Boot Record of the hard disk. Any Windows 2000 file system can be infected by viruses.

Hello, IF THIS IS A NEW SYSTEM YOU RECENTLY PURCHASED,GET THE RECIPT AND TAKE IT BACK AND ASK FOR A REFUND,JUST TELL THEM,EVEN THOUGH IT DOESN`T,THAT IT KEEPS FREEZING AND WILL NOT CONNECT TO THE INTERNET OR SOMTHING,THEN JUST BUY ANOTHER AND GET SOME SECURITY SOFTWARE INSTALLED.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
