Will the restoration software (discs and drivers) for a Compaq Presario r3000 work for the Compaq Presario v2000?

If no, where can I get the software to restore the v2000? My friend is selling me his computer but he doesn't have the software. Where can I find it?

Today I setup a wireless router (A Netgear WPN824) so I could access the internet with the 2 laptops in the house. I've gone through routerlogin.com and set everything up correctly. Laptop one appears to be connected, but no internet pages work. On Laptop 2 the status appears as "Limited or no connectivity" as it is cannot "renew IP address". The internet works briefly when I log on and then goes off again. Security options are set to TKIP as recommended. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I have format the hard drive and install it with Chinese Vi. of Window XP, everything work fine. But just everything time when i open up the computer it will have two Window ask me to choose from, but one of the is working other one is not. Why? I have two window to choose from. How can i get those thing solve? Then everytime, i don't have to choose one of the window in order to go into the window? Thank you very much for help?

We're looking at buying a low-end computer for home use. The Dell website lists the Dimension B110 with the Intel Celeron D processor at $329 (if we upgrade to 512mb RAM.) But for $329 we can also choose the Dimension E521 which comes with 512mb RAM, and uses the AMD Sempron 3400+ processor.

Is there a noticeable difference between the two processors for standard home use (internet, basic Windows programs, some games)?

Are there significant differences between the two machines that I'm missing?

i have a few questions about the power supply for computer. does more wattage mean the computer runs faster? how can you tell if a computer underperforms or crashes bescause of windows or the power supply? sorry, i'm not too computer saavy. i think my computer has 250 watt power supply powering a dvd drive, dvd recorder drive, pentium 4 2.8gh, 280 internal gb hard drive, 80 gb usb external. is the power supply adequete enough? i saw an Ultra V Series 400W Power Supplyfor 25$ shipped and thinking about getting it. thanks for any help

Is it potentially bad for the processor if you use it to the maximum for an extended period of time? I'm using Handbrake to rip some video, and according to Activity Monitor, it's using up pretty much all the processor, and estimated time is six hours. Is this bad for the processor and degrade will its performance?

I'm not into graphics or design, but then I'm not particularly into the latest games either so I'm not really being pulled either way. I mostly watch movies, emails,WP, P2P and torrent share and listen to music on iTunes. Am about to buy my first iPod if it makes any difference. When I try to play DVDs or any films I've downloaded there is a drag in the image that makes it completely unwatchable.

Every three seconds the image pauses and it is really irritating. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?

the screen on my daughters laptop has broken and its going to be repaired. the shop have told us the chances are it will come back wiped only problem is all her coursework is on it. we can save it as the screen is completley blank so we cant see what to do. is there any way of connecting to another computer screen to save it all and how!!!!!!!

frequently when I try to remove my flash disk from my computer error massage appers "The device ' Generic volume' cannot sopped right now. Over the past 2 weeks, there have been a few times when I shut down that I get a DOS-type window, stating something like" Stop 0x0000008E (Xc0000005 0x805B0405 0xF0486C7C 0X00000000) BIOS update needed. I do a hard reboot, then get a message saying that Windows recovered from a serious error. Error Signature: 10000008e BCP1: C0000005 BCP2: 805B0405 BCP3: F0486C7C BCP4: 00000000 OsVer: 5_1_2600 SP: 2_0 Product: 256_1. The comp works fine after showing this. I'm worried that my HD is going to crash. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated-Thanks

dell recently swapped my faulty drive out, now its not showing on my system, it shows in the bios, but when i put a boot diskette in, it is not showing as a valide drive, I need to format it first before reimaging it.
