You didn't indicate the specs on your PC. From the symptoms, I'm guessing you have an integrated video card with minimum ram (maybe 256 mb?).
In any event your best bet may be to shut off programs that are using up the ram you have. MOST of those programs have icons down by your clock on the lower right side of your bar at the bottom of your screen. Shut off as many of those as you can. If you are using some of the latest Norton products, I've read that they can be huge memory hogs.
It probably wouldn't hurt to shut off your screensaver as well.
If this doesn't help, try rebooting windows first, THEN do the above. Don't do any other stuff on your PC prior to launching the movie. Sometimes programs you run don't release the ram they used when running.
You SHOULD see an improvement in movie performance.
Hope this helps.

It sounds like you may have a bad video card or one that doens't have sufficient memory, try replacing you video card and see if that works. Depending on the age of you computer you should get a video card with a least 128M ram.

Sounds to me that the problem is in the creation of the file and there were probably errors during its creation. Another may be in the download, if it were interrupted at any point that can corrupt the file. Where did you download it?

Close all other programs before starting the DVD. I'm guessing your email program might be causing this problem.
Hope that helps!

This sounds like the computer (or video card) is a little too old to handle videos.
How old is the computer and is it worth it to try to upgrade it?

You may not have enough memory to play them. The more they use, the slower it will be
