How can I switch out a sound card from one computer to the other?

Better yet, since this I'm sure will take forever to answer, do you know of a website that will give me detailed instructions and possible photos?

Thanks!

Relatively straightforward. This assumes you don't have integrated sound on the motherboard, but a separate soundcard. Open up the computer case. You should see the soundcard attached to the motherboard. Remove the soundcard by removing the hex screw and then lifting up on the card. (I assume you have removed the speaker cables attached to the card before you opened up the case.)

On the other computer, open up the case. See if there is an open PCI slot. If there is, insert the sound card into it. It only goes one way. Tighten down the card with the hex screw. Close the case. Connect the speakers. Turn the computer on. You should get a "new hardware detected " message and the wizard runs. Make sure you have the driver CD for the soundcard with you. Follow the on-screen prompts for the driver install and you're done.

You will have to open up the second computer, there will be several slots, but near the back of the computeer there should be markings and it will be obvious which one is the soundcard slot, but if not then go to www.newegg.com for instructions

you should uninstall the drivers (software) first. then turn it off. unplug power. open the case. ground yourself. unscrew and take out the sound card. replace with new one. close case. plug and turn on computer. windows will detect new hardware. if you are lucky it will already have the drivers for it. if not follow instructions came with sound card.

in case you're that meticulous related to the sound high quality, then having a separate sound card would be better for you. it might make your game sound so plenty better. do not understand if it may well be worth it, via fact it expenditures plenty. Btw, i think of it has a gadget reminiscence (RAM) requirement of 256mb :). it could loosen up CPU utilization, yet eats up gadget reminiscence (RAM).
