Only problem is that the university network administrators block nearly every single port. Therefore, I can only access ports 135, 139 and 445 according to advanced port scanner v1.3. Is there any way of getting round this? Cheers guys

I have never had so much trouble setting up a router in my life. Looking forward to suggestions if anyone has anything for me! Here is the setup:

- 3 desktops and laptop on office network
- desktops wired to router, laptop wireless
- the network works fine - i.e. I can access other computers
- wireless signal strength is excellent - no problem there

Here is what I cannot do:
- Cannot view a web site
- Cannot check email

Here is what is true so far:
- DSL modem shows all is ok
- Router shows connection to modem, internet and the 3 PC's
- Windows shows the connection is good at 100 mbps
- Still can't go online!

Here's what I have done / tried and some other info:
- Tried dhcp on/off, dynamic and pppoe, messed around with IP's and everything else to no avail
- Pinged router - all works well. Ping a domain and it says host cannot be found.
- Disabled firewalls

Spent many hours on phone with tech support - everyone keeps passing the buck - what can I try now???

I am trying to set up a wireless printer to my network. I have a netgear wireless router. The wireless printer set up asked me for my SSID, which I knew. It then asked for the password so it could get on the network. I dont remember how to get that password. Any ideas?

Thanks (i'm writing this for my computer challenged dad, so sorry for the lack of details)

I have 2 desktop computers I would like to hook up with a wireless router. I am very ignorant to this subject so any help would be appreciated. I have a DSL modem hooked up to main computer and would like to hook up my old computer in my son's room. The main computer (and DSL modem) have ethernet connections but the older computer does not. I have seen the usb adapters, but do they work well. Is the wireless router and the adapter all I have to buy? Please help! thank you!!!

I just read an article that wi-fi networks are dangerous, just like cell phones (They cause cancer and stuff). Well, I have one wireless router and a Nintendo Wii. I use the wireless router only to connect the Wii to the internet. Is this less dangerous than a complete wireless network?
