I was thinking of switching from verizon DSL, phone to cable internet and phone and I was worried if i could still use our Dlink wireless router so we could still use our laptops (2) upstairs. I would also save about $70 a month. thanks

I got it to work once...and thats it....a while back and now I can't get it to work....If anyone could help that'd be great, Thanks.

im trying to put my computer downstairs but my modem is upstairs. when i ran the wire to downstairs somethings gone wrong or something, it would not find the internet, to put it downstairs i spliced the wire and put it in a cover of a box thats made for ethernet wires and i did that on both ends. the wire had been pinched in a few spots so i pulled it back and re-slpiced it to make sure that none of the wires had been broken. finally the computer started to read that the wire was there but when i went to get on the internet, it said that the page couldnt be found. i went and looked at me ip addresses and everything and none of them were there. so i brought it back upstairs and plugged it in the modem itself and it found everything, but then it lost all the address again when i took it downstairs. is something wrong with my internet, computer or wire? could you give suggestions on how to fix it or what to do about it. my dad wants it out of the upstairs and i cant afford the wireless.

Not for internet purposes since I already have a router set up and everything. But how do you set it up so that you can share files and whatnot between home computers?

If there are 2 computers with their ip and mask, and it's known there are in a subnet, does that subnet has an ip and mask as well, or just 1 of the two?.

Does that mean when I install this bluetooth stick into my laptop I will be able to use my wireless headset and walk away 100 meters faraway from the base? What do they mean by 100 meters range? I read this in the specifications.

I have tried to get on the internet from many different ways including, start, icon, a link in e mail, tried through the provider and checked with them on this problem etc. Internet wont open I have checked the settings and the modem they are ok. I have had a qualified computer expert check this out and fix it and no one can tell me what is wrong. I have posted this question before and had one good answer but again when tried it still didnt work and one stupid answer telling me to go to the start, I am not that stupid that I had not tried this already. some constructive advice please

I have had 2 appointments with them now where I have stayed home and they have either cancelled on the day of the appointment or arrrived with the wrong equipment after assuring me that they have the proper hardware! I am now rescheduling for a third time and would like to know if there are other better services that I can use to install a wireless network in my house?

okay, so we have internet in my house, and its broadband yeah.
and the internet works fine on the host computor
but my laptop is supposed to connect to it wirelessly
and basically when i go on it, it connects for like 3 seconds to someone elses broadband
and it says the connection is 'very weak' and i cant actualy use the internet from it
but then it disconnects, and it wont connect to the right broadband, even if it is right next to the host computor.
and i cant take it into like a shop or anything, coz my laptop isnt realy 100%legal...
were not realy sure about it, my dad got it for me in thailand, i think it just has an illegal copy of windows.
but the internet used to work fine on it.
oh yeah, also, when i plug in into the thing next to the computor it works fine.
and ive treid using a different (i dont know what its called, that thing i have to plug into the usb port to connect to the internet) but that doesnt work either.
