Im applying a new group policy to modify internet explorer security zones to allow 2 local intranet sites access. I am applying this to all domain and users. When I look at GPRESULT it says they were not applied because they were filtered out. Any clues? Thanks!

I have a 3 mg cable connection on my computer...it seems to be downloading and uploading very, very slow...a lot slower than a Dial Up Connection for some reason...been doing this for over a week now...the cable company is constantly trying to get me to upgrade to a 5 mg connection which I don't want to do since I don't seem to be getting my money's worth on the 3 mg connection...our computer has been checked and it is the cable connection for some reason...what could be wrong and why so slow...cable company slowing 3 mg connection down so customers will buy the 5 mg connection?...We cannot get DSL where we live since they say we are to far out and it doesn't extend this far...we don't live in the country...just a few miles outside the city...

Hi all,
I want to open my network to everyone in my access point area, but what is the main security problem if I setup my access point to be open to everybody? Can someone stole my files from my computer if I don't share any directories? I known that the data that is travelling can be captured, but wherelse can be done by a user in network?

Hi, I have a Desktop and a Laptop connected in Ad-Hoc mode. The Desktop has a Netgear PCI adaptor and the Laptop is an acer with an in-built adaptor. I've just got them connected and they're working fine but they never connect better than 11Mbps.

The Netgear Adaptor says that it supports upto 54Mbps and the signals are all fine. They're both b/g adaptors and so i'm at a loss as to what the problem is. Any help will be appreciated!

I have an x60 lenovo laptop. The problem is that whenever I try to connect to the internet (or to another computer) using the built-in wifi, a few minutes (around 5) after it has established connections, it gets disconnected.

I have to connect several times, and also try different ways to connect before I can have a stable connection.

Is there a problem with the hardware, or is it just because the settings are not properly set yet.
