For a upload speed it is close to normal for a 1 to 1.5Mb/s connection, but for a download speed it is not.

That's not too bad. Do you mean 384, not 314? That will get you a download speed of 48KBps.

no, it's consider slow for DSL...but about 5 - 6 times faster than dial-up.... low speed DSL is around 700kb, most people run on 1.5mb, some are 3mbs, 6mbs, 8mbs or even 10mbs.
So your connection is aobut half of the low speed of DSL

That is fast enough for home use. But, the concept of being fast changes everyday. I guess a 2MBps connection can be called fast today. Tomorrow it will be 10MBps!! who knows!
