We have a D-Link wireless router in our home that handles the Internet connection for all the devices in our house. I've been trying ever since we got it, however, to handle a full on home network, with file and printer sharing. I've done everything I can think of, I must have run that stupid Network Setup Wizard half a dozen times. The Internet sharing works fine, now I need file/printer sharing. Every device in the house is connected via wireless, except for one PC which is hardwired into the router via ethernet.

ok in the network connections folder there are two connections: the local area connection and 1394 connection. i want to know if I'm suppose to disable the 1394 connection and local area connection on? b/c i've been experiencing disconnections from the internet a lot later within less than 1 hr's time and always have to restart the modem to get it back. one of the yahoo tech people said that my computer is confuse from having two connections and that is why it's disconnecting. but even with 1394 connection off, i'm still disconnecting so does anyone know what to do?

I bought a WPN824 in January, and have been having trouble with it since. I cant return it cause by the time I found that it doesn't work with P2P because it can't handle the multiple connections from apps like uTorrent, Azureus, and Limewire. Would setting up a router between it and the modem, like using it as an access point instead of a router and access point work? Its a problem inherent with these routers as its something about the NAT tables which Netgear doesn't allow you to access through 192.168.1.1. A guy in the forum said it worked for him. How would I go about doing that.

I'm trying to establish an ad-hoc, internet sharing connection between two laptops. It's not working. I've created an ad-hoc connection on the host computer. The problem is, I can't get the client computer to recognize it or even find it. What am I doing wrong? (by the way, I'm trying to do this without a router)

I don't have a wireless router (I am not going to buy one) , I don't have the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector (I might buy it if it is the only way) . On the Wii, I selected the option, "Search for Access Point". After a short search, it found one access point. It read something like, "link_SYS_40733". I first thought it was my Comcast High Speed Internet modem. If it is my Comcast modem, please tell me where to find the code to unlock the security on it. If it isn't the modem, will the USB Connector work on my WIndows ME computer?

I'm pretty comfortable with computers, but am not an IT expert and have never set up a server before. Our small company just bought our first server - a Dell Power Edge SC440 with Windows Server 2003. We have four client PCs. I was thinking of installing and setting up the server myself, rather than paying someone to do it (the Dell quote was about $1,000). Is it reasonable for me to try to set it up myself, or do I really need to have an expert do it for me? I don't know how complicated it is to set up Windows Server 2003. I can install an OS on a desktop or laptop reasonably well, and do other similar tasks, but like I said I have never set up a server before. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Best answer award will go to the person who gives me an online link to buy a multicolored patch cable. (Not a single color per cable, but multiple colors in one cable - like stripes, or different colored connectors, etc...)

I have a Belkin wireless router for wireless internet access at home and have just bought a Philips wireless tv link so that we can watch cable tv in another room. After setting up the tv link and finding the channel that sends the best signal to the other room I discovered it interfered with the wireless internet signal and meant the signal was in fact lost. Is there a way to solve this so that we can us both the tv and internet at the same time??
