how can I set up a wireless conncection at home?

First of all, your laptop is probably wireless, check on the specifications of it But you are going to need a wireless router so that you can spread the internet connection around. Get a linksys or dlink wireless router. Connect it yo your dsl/cable modem and set it up. Its easy to do. If your laptop does not have wireless integrated...then you can buy a pcmcia card or a usb wireless adapter to read the wireless connection.

If you have a broadband connection you need to purchase a wireless router which you will connect between your modem and your desktop computer. The documentation on your router will tell you how to set up your wireless router. There most likely will be a setup cd that will do the job for you.

I just set up my laptop yesterday. I spent the day before trying to do itmyself only to have to contact the manufacturer(linksys), to get it up and going. I needed the right IP address and there is no way I could have figured this out myself. I connected via a DSL modem. It took about 35 min. lots of turning everything off and on, holding the reset button, and trying to find a password that would work. Trust me, call up the manufacturer, talk to tech support, it will save you lots of trouble.

if you have DSL or Cable for internet, you will need a wireless router, i suggest either a linksy's or netgear router. most laptops wireless internet built in but you need to make sure that it does. if not you can buy a wireless notebook card.

if your laptop has wireless already all you need is a broadband connection and a router. i suggest linksys wrt54g. or if you search for wireless networks and one is not encrypted you can use that for free. it is not illegal anywhere.
