I'm guessing you don't have access to the broadband modem but want to get your voip on??? Anyway, you could plug the adapter into your laptop but why not just use a softphone?

Also, if you really want to use a regular phone, there are wireless LAN bridges that can grab wifi signals and basically put them into a device you can plug stuff into. So you just plug a phone into your adapter and the adapter into the bridge and you're good to go. I read about it here: http://www.voip.com/voip_tips/Networking/wireless_network.aspx.

You probably could manage to finagle something like that, but I wouldnt recommend it. I would recommend some kind of soft phone. Like skype or Vonage's softphone.

I have used both and both work well, but it all depends on your internet connect.

802.11x is not a true bi-directional protocol you do not want to use it for anything that needs to be delivered in real-time
