Comcast Cable:
On and of. On and off. Every 1 minute to every 10 minutes. It happens whenever.

I searched and searched the internet and nobody has any answers that work.

I never had this problem until I changed over to Cable internet. I upgraded firmware, changed settings etc.., and still no solution.

I think this may be some sneaky way that the cable company saves bandwidth. Turn off the connection whenever you are idle, even for a minute. This sucks when downloading large files from Rapidshare (no resume download) and you have to wait an hour between downloads.

I live in a big house and there is one room where I don't want there to be access to the internet for personal reasons.

I have a modem where I have a router and 3 PC's but I suspect another modem being used with a laptop that is being hidden from me.

It would have to be connected to the TV cable and same isp. Is there a way to track it?

I have a wireless internet card set up in one of my PCI slots and am currently not using the ethernet port. My computer is picking up the internet connection via the wireless router built-in to my girlfriend's Mac computer. I also have my PS2 hooked in through my VCR and then through my ATI Radeon All-In-Wonder video card. Ideally, I would like to be able to use my Linksys WGA54G Wireless-G Game Adapter, but for some reason, I can't get it working. If I can get the ethernet port to reverse directions and be able to hardwire my PS2 to the internet through my computer, my problems will be solved. Hopefully some of you can help me. Thanks in advance.

I am trying to find or put together a wireless internet system at my house that will reach from my house to the garage which is like 300-400 feet away. I would like to have a laptop in the garage that is mobile with in that area, but have the router in the house. Is there a router with a strong enough signal to go that far and through all the walls? Or is there a way to have the connection meet up with another antenna that is about half way?

If you know of any suggestions or where to look for something that could make this possible I would appriciate it.

Thanks

A 56K Modem gives us the maximum uploading rate of 33.6Kbps but maximum downloading rate is 56 Kbps from an ISP. Why is there so much difference in uploading and downloading rate? Is there some way to increase the uploading speed as well?

Hi, I am having trouble connecting to a wireless network at my friend's place. There are several other wireless networks in the area, and one with the same SSID as that of my friend's. So, when I try to connect to my friend's network, it kicks me off after a few seconds, and connects me to the other network with the same SSID instead. Or, sometimes, windows claims to be connected to my friend's network, but it's actually connected to the other one. I know this because my friend's router is 802.11b standard, whereas the other one is 802.11g. Can anyone help please?

I set up the network and am sharing an internet connection. I have the same workgroups set up on both but when I go to "View Workgroup computers" it says "MSHOME is not accessible"

I have not been able to figure out how to establish the connection to one anothers shared resources. I selected the filed I want to share and the printer. I also trashed the network and set it up several times and nothing has changed with the exception of one computer could see the other in the work group but it could not access its shared resources.

I am running windows XP and XP pro. The host computer has XP and the client has XP pro.

Please help ASAP.

Thanks
