Exactly Gary!! That's the beauty of a wireless router.
You can have as many as 255 users hooked to 1 wireless router.
Now keep in mind that if you have a lot of users on a same wireless router the signal might get a little weak and the browsing might reduce on speed. But it takes a lot of users to slow down a wireless router signal. If you have a lot of users and are far away from each others in your office or home don't be cheap, buy a strong wireless router. That way you will avoid any weak signals in the future & save yourself time & worries..
If you go wireless make sure you secure your network using WEP or WPA.
When you are ready let me know and I will walk you through the unviverse of freedom.
Good luck,
Joe.

I have it, there is a little box outside on the wall, and a router in my brother's office outside and anyone who comes within a short distance of it (the box) would normally pick up my connection and use the internet, but there is a password on it so they can't use it.
There is several places/businesses around that don't have a password so If I park outside their building with a laptop, I could use the internet off their connection. But you'd have to know where these wi-fi hotspots are and it's not like everyone drives around with their laptop turned on, but if they did then it'd make a beep sound and an icon would appear on the desktop at the bottom saying "wireless internet connection detected". my brother and my computer are connected to a router via the box on the wall, and my brother's laptop can plug into the router too, there could be other ways it's done too, this is the only one I know.

Yes maximum 255 users can be connected to one wireless router but you will have to check router specification. If you will be using secure network then all users will have to enter Network key, which will be given by your ISP or you can create your own as well.
For wirelesss internet you will be required following:
1) Broadband connection or any other fast connection
2) Network key (if using secure network)
3) Your machine (laptop/desktop) should be Wifi enabled, if it is not then you can buy external usb wireless adapter.
Hope this will help.

Assuming that you have somekind of broadband connection (cable or DSL) then the out put of your modem would need to be hooked into a wireless router. At that point point, multiple people can use the internet connection. This could be either wireless or if you run ethernet cables to the router then they could be hardwired.

Yes. You need to have a router. You connect your internet to the router and then the PCs to the router and you're set. It's really easy now adays because usually the router comes with software that basically sets it up for you. All of the PCs you set up have to have a nic (network interface card) to be able to use the network though.
