Comcast Cable:
On and of. On and off. Every 1 minute to every 10 minutes. It happens whenever.

I searched and searched the internet and nobody has any answers that work.

I never had this problem until I changed over to Cable internet. I upgraded firmware, changed settings etc.., and still no solution.

I think this may be some sneaky way that the cable company saves bandwidth. Turn off the connection whenever you are idle, even for a minute. This sucks when downloading large files from Rapidshare (no resume download) and you have to wait an hour between downloads.

You're kidding?

We also have the same problem. We're using Comcast internet. Yesterday it started going on and off every 2 or 3 minutes for a few hours. Then it just shut off. My computer still works but the laptops and my moms computer don't work. They said there wasn't at thing they could do. Yeah, right. And its their job? Pshh.

So I'm stuck sharing a computer with my mom, and geek squad wont come out till the 21st, plus the bill we have to pay for that.

Comcast really isn't as great as they say they are.

We've also tried everything, and nothing. Good luck, cheers.

Comcast has about the worst customer service on the planet.

They say all kinds of things and make all kinds of promises, and once you sign up, you become just a little lower than dog poo on the sidewalk ( from the way they avoid you ).

I suggest you look at other vendors instead, you don't need the aggravation.

I don't have an answer to your question, but I am sure glad you asked it. I got fed up with my DSL ISP last week and decided to switch everything to cable. As the time grew closer, though, I lost my nerve and didn't make the change. After reading what is happening to you, I am relieved that I didn't switch.
