I have a belkin and every 10 minutes it kicks off whatever is connected to it wirelessly. (wired dont get kicked off) and a few times a week it completely locks up and needs to be reset.
Im looking to buy a linksys wrt-54g but saw some reviews that said it does it also.
Im looking for a wireless-g router that doesnt lock up, kick stuff off, and has WPA encryption capabilties. and i dont want to spend more than $80.
does anyone know what i should get?

thanks

Almost all Wireless Routers have that problem.

Also the "locking up" results from the inferior quality of the Cable Service you have, which affects more the "wireless" activity than the "wired".

There is no "perfect" Router/Access Point to recommend.

Hi Dude,
Unfortunatly I cannot recommend you a decent 54G router as I currently use the Belkin Pre-N series (and have never been happier to tell you the truth). But I wanted to warn you to steer clear of the Linksys wrt-54g. I had one (well 3 actually) that failed constantly (things like when it was power cycled or restarted, it would factory reset)..

I have to say that the belkin gear is the best I have worked with. Perhaps try upgrading your firmware or failing that, get the unit checked out as it sounds rather odd that you are getting those problems.
Regards
Stuart

Linksys is by far one the best routers on the market and is priced within the 50 dollar range. I have used Linksys for years with no problems

The best right now is neither netgear or linksys. The best qulity and warranty is from dell and low price. You hsould but it from them. Check them out at dell.com
