How can I connect my second pc which has only dialup modem to my other pc.
I have heard that a hub could do it and it wouldnt even have to use the dialup modem. The second pc doesnt have an ethernet card. My first pc does have an ethernet card, and i have a dsl connection. I would like to be able to access files on my first pc from my second pc.

buy an ethernet card and put it in the other pc and then use a crossover cable to link together. a normal ethernet cable wont do it. usb is another option for file transfering. or if it's just for viewing files on the other pc then you could use a KVM switch which would enable you to use one Keyboard,monitor and mouse to control both pc's

Since you already have a dsl connection on the first pc , why not get a router and another network card for the second pc. this way, both pcs will have internet access and be able to talk to each other. The dsl connection would go to the router, and the router would then connect to both pcs by ethernet cable and cards.

why not throw an ethernet card in it? there's many way to connect them, null modem cable, parellel cable, but nothing is going to be easier than just getting an ethernet card.

Install a twenty dollar wireless card in the computer and they will both have wireless DSL connection and then decide how you want to network them.
