I mean, if you are talking to somebody on AIM and they don't know your email or anything like that, could they hack your computer? Could they send you a virus. Or do any kind of harm. And I don't mean your average friend, more like a computer whiz who you think has done something to it already, but you are not sure. Is there any way I can find out for sure?

Hi all, do u think it's possible to set up the wireless network in the following condition:-

2 houses in the apartment, but one is in the 8th floor and the other in the 9th floor. The distance vertical distance is about 4-5 houses.

Do you think that it's possible to set-off wireless network in such distance? There are a lot of obstacles like walls, others houses television etc.

Which wireless router do you recommend? The cheapest I think should be Prolink, but I don't know whether it's good or not. Others good brand such as D-Link, Linksys...but I think it will be expensive,

Kindly advise.

Thank you.

My neighbor just installed a wifi which she has not secured. It seems as though every time my wifi gets weak it then tries to attach to hers. Prior to this, it would just reconnect to mine if ever there was a problem and it was restored. Now I have to click on the "more than one wireless network is available" link and choose mine. It's a pain because my wifi connection has been a tad flaky lately.

How do I reset the default access password on the DI-624. I have already tried the instructions offered on the D-Link website at http://support.dlink.com/faq/view.asp?prod_id=996&question=DI-514%20/%20DI-524%20/%20DI-524_revD%20/%20DI-524_revE%20/%20DI-604%20/%20DI-614+%20/%20DI-624%20/%20DI-624S%20/%20DI-754%20/%20DI-764%20/%20DI-774%20/%20DI-784%20/%20DWL-900AP+%20/%20DWL-1000AP+%20/%20DWL-6000AP%20/%20DI-804V%20/%20DI-514_revC%20/%20DWL-900AP+_revC%20/%20DWL-800AP+_revB with no success. How do I reset the password so that I can secure the wireless password?

By the way, my parents have had this gateway/router for two months before their "techie" son (me) came home from college to protect their connection. I'm afraid that somebody has logged onto the wireless connection and messed something up intentionally.

I upgraded 1 machine from 2k Pro to XP Pro. I have a 2nd PC still running 2k pro w/4 port router. I can no longer connect w/ the 2k PC, my XP Pro PC will only connect directly through the Cable Modem, even though it is hooked up to the router 1st. (I tried a different router too) Any ideas?
