Computer Networking - August 2006

We have a type II wireless modem provided by dataone (dataone.in) from broadband at the office, since we have a Business Plan and limited usage for a month, I would like to have a log over the LAN or via the modem (if possible) of all downloads/uploads activities taking place. Would anyone know of any free software which can be installed for such a purpose? Thank you so much.

i mean i had network in my home which link 5 computers together.

but the problem is i do not have Internet connection at home.

so is there any1 who noe where can i find a software tat support network chatting without goin into the Internet?

I want to at least wire a few rooms in my house to my basement with cat 6 network cable. I see as the best way is to get a new face plate for my cable connection plate and pull down through its hole along with the tv cable at least in one room that has had. one of my rooms lousy cable running to its slot since install and seems a good idea for at least directing new cable in. if the cable wires were installed better then the cable service to the bad room how much iritation would this cause me to do this in the other rooms i have cable to??? also if this is probably one of those good installed wire and it require opening walls or an electricion how much would getting somone to thread the wire if need be.

hey my speakers on my computer won't work . I tried to use the speakers from my old computer which worked but it doesn't work on this computer .The speakers used to work but now they don't .If i wanted the speakers to work where would i plug it in ? what keys would make it work ? i have a COMPAQ computer for the record. Im having connection issues, i believe its my Ip. Im on a hotel wireless connection and ive been working fine for a week now untill last night. Tech support wont help because im "connected" problem is i cant hold a solid connection. Also I have another laptop running on a diff Ip and its solid as ever. How can I break the Ip lease so I can get another....Thanks

I can only get to the internet with a wireless signal. Is there a way to hook a computer without a wireless card to the one that gets the wireless signal so that they both can have internet? Both have ethernet cards and could be hardwired to the wall if avaliable. Any thoughts?

when attempting to set up a vpn connection to a server behind a DG834 netgear router i get GRE errors on the server and the client just times out at the authentication stage. i am forwarding the correct port to the server as it works at another site with a DG834GT router.
