We have a type II wireless modem provided by dataone (dataone.in) from broadband at the office, since we have a Business Plan and limited usage for a month, I would like to have a log over the LAN or via the modem (if possible) of all downloads/uploads activities taking place. Would anyone know of any free software which can be installed for such a purpose? Thank you so much.

try snort, it will allow you to monitor network tracking and its free/open source so if you have someone within your company they and add in features for you without much hassle.

other than that maybe you might wanna set up some filtering on the Internet so employees can't download any files but still have the ability to do the work they need to do, might I suggest bringing in an IT person so they can set up your network and getting running the way you want it to run.
