I've just moved to a new city and I'm trying to set up my home network on two computers. The internet connection is through a cable modem and into my linksys router and then into my computer(s). The first computer is fine and has been working without issue for a few weeks.

I tried to hook up the second computer today using the ethernet cord and the network setup wizard for xp and it isn't working. The local area connection icon is showing in the bottom right corner and it shows a speed of 100.0 Mbps, but it also shows the yellow triangle that says there is an error. (Limited or no connectivity).

I tried running the network setup wizard a few more times to no avail. I've tried repairing the connection and I keep getting an error that says that the IP address couldn't be found. What should I do?

I am going to be a freshman in college this fall, and the school that I'm going to only has WiFi access in certain buildings, but the dorms aren't those certain buildings. However, each room in the dorm is set up for ethernet/high speed internet access. If I connect my ethernet cord to a wireless router, will I be able use my ethernet connection from my computer? (Given the fact that my computer comes equipt with a wireless card, &c) Or is buying a wireless router a waste of time and money?

the router is DI634M. The modem is Speedstream 4100. ISP is sbc now it changed to att.

We have a cable modem and a d-link router and 2 diff network cards, well when one tries to use the internet it wont connect, but the other one is just fine. What could be the problem?

I have two Pc's connected Via, crossover cable. I can remotely connect the Home to the Pro, However I can't connect the Pro to the Home. If I click the Remote Desktop Connection, It askes me for the Computer to connect to, I enter the name of the computer I am trying to connect to and it will not find it. I click the dropdown arrow and It tells me "The MSHOME domain/workgroup does not contain any Terminal Servers."

Any Ideas?

I want to stop other local area network clients from downloading because it slows down the speed of Net and even sometimes i have to wait for yahoo home page to open for 20-30 seconds. Please help me.

I dumpster dive a local place that throws away TONS of ethernet cables, but they chop about 3" off of one end of each one (unless it's sealed in plastic, but this is rare there). I want to do something polite to try and get them to stop doing this! It would make it easier for them just to throw it away with both ends on, that way they can be more productive doing what they're SUPPOSED to be doing... anybody agree? anybody know anything i can do to get them to leave their cables whole so i can recycle them???

Hi, I got a Norton antivirus copy from a friend and the key number supposed to be inside but it happens that everything is in English but when it comes to read the key number and instructions it all appears in signs and some words in English.
They are signs and strange letters that I tried to translate but could not find what language that is.
What should I do and another importan question is.

My computer has adAware and Spybot and even when not connected to the internet Spybot shows that DSO Exploit is there and is shows 5 entries and then is shows the key number for Windows XP and then it says registry change and I tried to access it but it does not allow me to do so I can only "fix it"; but then 3 minutes later I scanned the same again and it shows the same exactly; 3 times I scanned and it shows that and there is no connection to internet but then I went to check if explorer is moving where you check and it moves just on number 2 but then stays on 0 most of the time. thanks
