how to connect a router to a adsl modem with routing function?

the router is DI634M. The modem is Speedstream 4100. ISP is sbc now it changed to att.

I have the SpeedStream 4100 with AT&T also. Just connect the ethernet cable from the ADSL Modem to the WAN port of your router, then connect your computers to the other LAN ports of your router. I am not familiar with the D1634M router, so I cannot help you with that one.

if you are talking about a dsl modem, it is also a router, it should have 4 ports on it to connect other comuters already.
