Hi, I got a Norton antivirus copy from a friend and the key number supposed to be inside but it happens that everything is in English but when it comes to read the key number and instructions it all appears in signs and some words in English.
They are signs and strange letters that I tried to translate but could not find what language that is.
What should I do and another importan question is.
My computer has adAware and Spybot and even when not connected to the internet Spybot shows that DSO Exploit is there and is shows 5 entries and then is shows the key number for Windows XP and then it says registry change and I tried to access it but it does not allow me to do so I can only "fix it"; but then 3 minutes later I scanned the same again and it shows the same exactly; 3 times I scanned and it shows that and there is no connection to internet but then I went to check if explorer is moving where you check and it moves just on number 2 but then stays on 0 most of the time. thanks

The Windows XP is a new installed one and it is original. I ran Norton with the 15 day trial and it shows no virus threat but Spyware and AdAware do show those bugs and legitime ones. How can people be so vile to do this kind of things to people; don't they have something better to do than to spy on us and use that information for bad which is probably what they do.
Thanks a lot.

find a crack for your version of norton.. you could use http://keygen.us but that wouldn't be such a good idea cause then you would have an illegal version of norton.. better you buy one instead.. its your choice..
I also always get dso exploit when i run spybot..
its a bug from IE..
the links at the bottom explains it all..

Be aware that Spybot Search & Destroy and Ad Aware can detect false positive (i.e. labeling a file as spyware when in actuality it is harmless. Read this entry from PC World:
"Spybot vs. the DSO Exploit
Every time I scan my PC for spyware using Spybot Search & Destroy, the program lists DSO Exploit as a problem. I instruct the program to fix the entry, but the next time I run Spybot, the same thing happens. What's going on?

You're actually contending with two bugs. The first one, which Microsoft has addressed, resided in Windows. The second one, as I write this, is still in Spybot.
Let's start with the Windows problem. The DSO Exploit was a security gap in Internet Explorer that allowed a malicious program to take over your PC. Microsoft plugged that gap, and if you use Windows Update to keep Windows nicely patched (as you should), it's no longer an issue.
Unless you're using Spybot Search & Destroy, that is. When you scan with this popular spyware-detection utility, it looks for the DSO Exploit. If it finds it, the program alerts you and gives you the option to fix it--as it should (see FIGURE 2).
Unfortunately, due to a bug in Spybot, the program doesn't delete the exploit, so it continues to tell you that the bug needs fixing. And it will still tell you this after Windows Update has plugged the hole.
In short, if Windows is updated, you don't have to worry about the DSO Exploit at all. Just ignore Spybot's warnings. The program's designers at Safer Networking know of the problem and plan to release a fix. (Note: As we went to press, Safer Networking claimed that it had set existing Spybot versions to ignore the bogus DSO Exploit return as of the February 16, 2005, program update. Visit the Spybot FAQ page to read Safer Networking's explanation of the problem.)" -- pcworld.com
If you have a legitimate copy of Norton Antivirus then you shouldn't have any problems installing the software. You can not share product keys. If your friend gave you his product key then it won't work. Each computer, which has Norton Antivirus installed, needs a unique product key.
There is no shortage of good free antivirus programs. Some of the more popular one's are: Avast, AVG and Antivir. You can find all these programs at

Hi. You have to uninstall the previous version of Nortons before you can install a new version. I found this out by our IT guys at my work. Also, Norton protects every anti-virus program they have, so if you have a bootleg copy you are out of luck.
The ad-aware and spy-bot must be blocked as a pop up. Once you buy a legitimate Norton program, you will be able to block that annoying and frustrating crap too. I honestly would take you computer into some place like CompUSA and have them clean your hard drive, reconfig your entire hard drive and install the latest version of Nortons.

First off, you can't "get a copy" of Norton from a friend. That is called stealing. I would suggest going to www.avast.com They have free antivirus software and oh yeah, did I say it was free.
Try that and then we can work on your other issues.
