I use cingular, it works fine, and is relatively easy. Go to http://www.cingular.com and in the top right corner it says send a text in grey font. click on that and fill in the required information.

Every cell phone these days has an e-mail address. Usually the phone number@some weird carrier address...like cingular.net or something. Go to the carrier page and find out what it is. Most carriers also usually have a way to send text from their main pages. Just do a search on send text message and usually you will get what you need.

go to that person's cell carrier Internet site, sprint, cingular, Verizon, find the text messaging link and write the MSG from there. you will need their cell number.
