Well each one maybe easy to figure out, so I say use a little bit of each and you will have a perfect password. (except for the name)

"Effective" passwords should have an equally likely chance, in each position of the password, of being any one of the possible characters available. Restricting rules like "needs to use one punctuation character" or "needs one digit" or "no names/words" drastically reduce the number of potential passwords and make the system more vulnerable to a brute force attack ... as the attacker can then safely disregard any possible combinations that would violate those rules.
The longer the better, as long as the password can be recalled from memory when needed ... when the password becomes too long or difficult to remember that the owner must write it down, then it becomes a potential problem.

Use as much variety as you can. Letters, both uppercase and lowercase, numbers, symbols. Always make it as long as possible. (Most of the time you will have a limit somewhere between 8 and 16.) Make it completely random, personally irrelevent, and change it frequently... unless of course you have nothing to hide... in which case just make it your dog's name or something easy that you will remember.

names are highly not recommended. If you can, try to use random letters of the alphabet instead of just random numbers
