I upgraded 1 machine from 2k Pro to XP Pro. I have a 2nd PC still running 2k pro w/4 port router. I can no longer connect w/ the 2k PC, my XP Pro PC will only connect directly through the Cable Modem, even though it is hooked up to the router 1st. (I tried a different router too) Any ideas?

Update both PCs to XP and check the router and router drivers compatibility with the XP system. Fresh Install XP on both systems and reinstall your network from scratch. Also try switching the PCs around and using the router on the other PC.

Sounds like you need to enable DHCP on the router or set static address on the PC.. One or the other.
