I'm an amateur graphics designer and I've been using Serif Photoplus 6.0 for about a year and a half now. This Christmas my mom decided to buy me a better program but I need help deciding which one to tell her to get me. It can't be insanely unaffordable which means only around $100 or so. I want something worth buying though so I was hoping I could have some opinions on which brand is better. Advice on versions would be awesome as well. Thanks!

How do you get 8gbs of RAM into a computer? Also every motherboard that i've seen only has four holes so then the max RAM allowed is 4, so how do i get 8. is there 2gb ram chips? or does window xp/vista 64bit make it think different...such as 1 gb = 2gb....lol just guessing Please help

Hi, if you have a mac OS,
could you answer a question for me? In order to download something, I have to find the Browser bundle but i have searched through all the applications, everything. I need to lunch my Safari browser in the "Rosetta emulation mode" but i cant find the browser bundle (in with i can open it the right way) ANYWHERE!! If you have any experience, please help!!

i used a psu calculator and it says i only need 300v for all of that??? that cant be right.

Occasionally, when I open the lid of my Inspiron 8500, the resolution has dropped to 800x600. Sometimes it will quickly change itself back, but other times it just stays that way. I have an ATI mobility radeon 9000 video card and I've tried updating the drivers. I've also read about other ppl fixing this problem by changing 'LidBehavior' keys in the registry, but I think this only works with Nvidia cards, b/c there are no such keys in my registry. Any ideas?

with a ethernet card but, my windows xp network connections page says that the cable is unplugged but it is not checked it over multiple times. Any ideas how to program my router to let my second computer connect also?

once one of the links is clicked then the visited takes effect but the rollover :hover effect no longer works, how can I make it act like it hasn't been clicked ?

I did ask this question earlier but maybe I wasn't clear enough.

Ive just been able to turn on my home pc yestersday since the mid-west ice storm has taken power from me for 11 days now. My pc was on a surge protector but there is problems. When I turn my pc on I get a black screen that gives me options to (start windows normally), (start at last known good configuration), (start in safe mode), (sart in safe mode with networking). All options attempt to load the OS but bring me right back to the black screen with the previous options. should I begin a system recovery? I really dont want to loose my data files.

It is a Pacenet Cat 5 cable connection (i.e. this cable now comes directly to my desktop LAN card). However, I want to share this with my notebook. What is the easiest way to do this? I am not sure if a Hub would work ? Do these connections work only to a particluar LAN card? (i.e. tied to that LAN card)
I am thinking of buying a hub, but need to be sure, before I spend the money.
Please suggest.

I am trying to connect to the internet using a Belkin router and Tesco broadband. When I connect it all up and use the wizard on Belkin site I get to a point where the router is receiving a signal and the computer shows signal being received -(two
computers) showing local area connection. Also Zone Alarm is showing traffic in and out. Router also gives green light for ASDL signal. But am not 'on' the internet -the Belkin site shows 'not connected' as comfirmation. Why is this?
the wizard 'picks up' the required settings apart from my user name and password which I enter. I am using Firefox which is also enabled in ZA for internet access. Any help much appreciated.

I have an old computer that I have not used for about four years.I am trying to use it now but I forgot the password to start it.When I connect,it prompts me to enter my password.I have tried all my passwords but none seems to be working.Someone told me to press F1 or F2 immediately the computer is startin to reset the password.
Can anybody tell me the best way?


I followed advise from folks who replied earlier,but my screen reads "No active partition DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER.

Any more advice?

I keep getting an annoying pop up every time I try to open my brouser or go to a different website. It says "your computer was infected by trojan, It's dangerous for your computer, some files can be lost! Click ok to download the antispyware program to protect your computer"

Of course I click cancel, but it continues to pop up every time I try to go to a web page. Please help!

I just recovered my laptop from a lot of viruses, trojans, and spyware. I'm using norton antivirus, ad-aware, and avg to scan my computer. I've deleted the 211 files that were found to be infected and scanned my computer again. I've then scanned my computer again and ad-aware and avg aren't finding anything but norton keeps popping up saying that a virus has been detected and removed or just detected on my computer. Could there still be viruses on my computer and if so how do I find them and get them off? Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
