it might work. If it does work it well lower its speed to pc2700. Its DDR2? You would just have to try it. Most cases I would probably say no (different speed) but you really won't know unless you try it. Just take out the other ram stick. Put this one in (only have the one in) and boot up your computer. Check your BIOS and see if you see the RAM there. If so put the other RAM stick in and see if it works!

Make sure than it uses the same number of pins; otherwise, it won't fit in to the RAM slot. For example, desktop RAM are usually 184-pin. Otherwise, there should not be a problem using the DDR PC3200. PC3200 is faster than your current RAM but your computer might not be able to benefit from the faster RAM since the motherboard can't support the faster RAM.

Yes, the higher speed memory will clock down to the slowest memory stick in the system.

Install it and boot it up, if it doesn't post (no text comes up on the screen) use the pc3200 in the first slot and the 2700 in the second. Some machines are a little picky.

Althou most computers will clock the higher speed ram down not all will. Since you already have the stick and if you're sure its the same type just try it. Its not going to hurt anything--at the worst you just wont boot up. If that happens then just yank the stick back out. Make sure you pull the power cord off the back of PSU or turn the PSU rocker switch to off to get the power off the board. Even with the puter off you still have power to the board and you dont want any sparks putting the ram in.
