First off, sendto, netsend ARE NOT DOS commands. Those are commands running in a VDM (virtual Dos module) that Microsoft provided to users of the Windows OS for diagnostics in the "WINDOWS" environment. DOS is another OS (operating system) that did not and does not have the ability to send messages of any sort to another computer. DOS, NOT A VDM is an OS (Operating System). The question was "How do you send a message using DOS, not a dos command to another computer"? Net Send is the command (NOT A DOS COMMAND) that can be used in the VDM that's provided with Windows OS. net send {IP address/computer name} {message} In fact, it's referred to by Microsoft as the command line or command prompt, where when you used a command in DOS, it was referred to as a DOS command or the DOS prompt. The vernacular makes a difference especially if you are talking to MS or another tech.
