I have an old 40GB NTFS-formatted hard drive, and I want to install a dual-booted Linux setup. I think it would be a BIG pain in the neck to have to uninstall and reinstall everything.

Is there any (free) way to create another partition on my XP computer without having to reinstall my OS?

All my firmware is updated (but that can't be the problem because I can access DVDs/CDs from it while in target disk mode). So should I reinstall the system? Or is there something I can do?

I want to install Fedora 7, and even downloaded bittorrent in order to download it, but there are a bunch of different versions, and I can't tell which one I'm supposed to download.

I have an HP, and it has an Athalon 2500+ But from there, I can't tell which versions of Fedora 7 is the one I want to download.

Since I've updated my anti spyware, it has been finding several traces of morpheus applications. I haven't used morpheus in a long time, and have removed the program. Today, I noticed it still had some program files on my computer, and I haven't ran a scan yet. Do you think that should have fixed it? Or do I need to look further/clean deeper into my PC?

It is a satellite notebook with a blue top. The area around the keypad is silver, but the keypad itself is black. It has Harmon Kardon speakers and cost about $2500 Australian. I bought it in mid-2005, but have misplaced the paperwork. If anyone can help that would be great. Thanks!

The response time between the striking of an key on the key board or the click of the mouse key the processor is very slow to respond. Even when I'm off-line, I still have to wait for the action to happen were I can see it on the desk-top window.
I clean everything I can; the registry, the temp files, I defragment and do a disk-clean up. But still it (my computer) takes a long time to process a single thing. And if I do use two windows at the same time things stay the same. I only open one tab pre-start-up. My computer is the: TOSHIBA Satellite l25-s119. Version: x86 Family 6 Model 13 Stepping 8
Speed: 1496 MHz
Memory (RAM) Capacity: 1 GB
Local Disk: Total Capacity: 55.88 GB
Sum of Hard Disks: (C: )
Used: 28.80 GB
Free: 27.08 GB
My question is:
I would like to know how to get a faster exchange from the processor and me interface with a window on the desk-up screen. Please know I'm not wanting to buy a new computer right now just help this one work better.

I've located this file in my System 32 folder but I can't delete it. The message says it's either protected or currently "in use". I've already disabled it in Manage-Add Ons under tools, so I'm at a loss how to competely remove it. Help please?

I'm going to build my own desktop, im a hardcore gamer so i want to make it pretty badass, i have about $1,500 but my question is say i buy an intel, does that mean i have to buy intel parts only? My computer has been acting funny lately. Sometimes I will get one pop up and even if I am not on a site, maybe like 3 times a week. Then once in awhile my cd-rom tray just opens on its own, sometimes it sounds like its going to open and the light goes on but it doesnt open. Sometimes my computer will freeze for a few seconds for no reason even if I am not on a site. I did a scan with AVG, Mcafee, Antivir, and nothing. I also scanned in safe mode and turn off system restore and nothing. I had something almost similar once and it was a trojan, found it, and deleted it and move on.
Do you think I have a trojan or something else? If I do what can I do to get it out bc the scans are not working.

i drew my first floor plan on autocad 2008 today :) and i need to draw the second floor and basement floor plans as well. it seems like such a waste of time to redo all of the interior and exterior walls and pillars when i did them in a different drawing. isn't there a way to import or copy parts of one drawing into another? thank you!

When I first talked to my computer. It acted like it knew what it was doing. I would turn on the computer. It would load itself with what it needed and a few things it didn't and end at the windows screen with the icons in place - it would rest - waiting for my next direction.
As time went on, it got a little junk in the trunk - so to speak. I would try and try to get it to slim down - but no matter how much I would try to clean it up, it just got heavier and slower and even have some malfunctioning attacks.

Then I finally thought it was going in for a major operation, but it recovered some what.
Now it still works - but has shown that it had a stroke . When I turn on the computer it goes to several screens, before it stops at a screen that shows its ComPac logo. 2 boxes on the screen say to :
F1 Boot
F10 Computer set up.

There is also a line at the very top that says:
1720 - Hard Drive Detects Imminent Failure.
(no shoot hot dog)

Don't tell me, its time to say goodbye

I have the computer listed above. i am trying to run a ful system recovery i have the disk, i have the serial code, i run it, it restarts itself, then asks to run from cd or hd. i choose the normal one, and it restarts normally, does not continue the recovery. i choose the boot from cd, a blue screen comes up and says "Window Setup" and does nothing from there on.
what to do?

I am merging some of the pdf documents in Acrobat 7.0 standard version.
Annoying thing is each document start on a new page. How can I get everything togather without blank half pages in between them?
