I clean everything I can; the registry, the temp files, I defragment and do a disk-clean up. But still it (my computer) takes a long time to process a single thing. And if I do use two windows at the same time things stay the same. I only open one tab pre-start-up. My computer is the: TOSHIBA Satellite l25-s119. Version: x86 Family 6 Model 13 Stepping 8

My question is:
I would like to know how to get a faster exchange from the processor and me interface with a window on the desk-up screen. Please know I'm not wanting to buy a new computer right now just help this one work better.

It's the operating system, not the processor, that's failing to respond.

It sounds like everything the computer does is slow, not just keyboard and mouse. Something is occupying all of the computer's time. My best guess is a virus or other malware, though it could also be doing something stupid like trying deperately to connect to a server that doesn't exist.
