open internet explorer then maximize it,, then close it.. open it again and it will be maximize.. this happens because the computer has a sort of "memory" in which when you close a certain program, let say in minimized mode.. when you open it again it will be opened in minimized.. this also works on internet explorer.

Hi,

The problem with it not being maximized may be due to re-adjustment of the window. You can try opening it and (without) clicking the maximize button, place your cursor on the border and while holding down the left mouse button, drag the window toward the edge of the screen until it fills the screen completely. This should adjust it to open fully the next time you open MS Explorer. :)

Would zeven77 please edit his answer and give further details. When I right click either on the IE7 short cut, or the IE7 primary icon, neither of the properties gives any indication of how to open the window fully maximized.
Edit: Thanks Brandon. I am running Windows XP and have checked the properties of several shortcut icons and definitely do not have the option to change how a window opens. There is neither Run Normal or Run Maximized. :-((

in windows xp at least, all shortcuts have it under properties. where it says "run" select maximized. it might now say run: normal window. change it to run: maximized
