I have an older pavilion mx 70, and want to get a lcd monitor - which ones will work the best-or all they all interchangeable and I'm worrying for nothing?

they all work as long as it is VGA

It depends on the graphics card in the HP PC.

Try to match the "Native Resolution" of the LCD Monitor to it.

On LCD, unlike CRT Monitors, the screen resolution is fixed. The specs will tell you what that number is, so you need to be sure that the latest Graphics Card driver can "match" the LCD monitor you choose.

TIP: Most 17" LCDs can do 1024 X 768 or 1280X1024. Avoid Wide Screen LCDs that use weird resolutions, like 1280x800, which may be beyond your graphics card's capability.

geek is right if the graphic card is ok then no problem but then again you can likely change that
