one specific part of p.c,s has allways confused me and thats all the ampage and wattage that appears in the specification sheets for power supplys, for example a 350watt psu will have a chart like this
+12V +5V +3.3V +5VSB -12V -5V
15A 16A 15A 2A 0.5A 0.5A ...and a 550watt p.s.u will look ike this
+3.3V +5V +12V -5V -12V +5VSB
28A 35A 30A 0.5A 0.8A 2.5A
my question is,as the ampage on the 550watt psu is higher than the 350watt psu, well what bearing will that have on a p.c,such as supplying power to a graphics card
i ask this as its using a 350watt p.s.u at the moment and as the card requires a 400watt i think its not getting the power it should, thus affecting its performance
will the new 550watt psu improve the stability of the graphics card due to the better power supply
any ideas guys?.............cheers!
