Destructive PC recovery wipes everything clean and sets it back in time. Usually to the time it was purchased.

All your user files are deleated if not backed up.
All your programs you installed are gone too.....
You start fresh from scratch when you first got it.

It is the recovery that brings you back to original factory settings using the recovery disc provided. Only what was installed by the PC maker remains. All your files are gone. This is better than a reformat and fresh OS installation. Fresh install still requires installation of ALL drivers afterwards. This portion is the one often missed by those who are not familiar with the procedure.

It is an order that you give to the computer so that it makes the computer go to how the computer was when you first got it.

Destructive means it "destroys" what was there and the build will be pristine.
