Have been told that I have to much running in the back ground , of the programs that have icons on the lower right hand corner of the screen , showing that they are running in the background , How do I turn off the ones that I dont use ??

The main network is using a router wired through the building,

in one room I connected my DI-624 wireless router to the wall - and two computers wired to the router, one wireless to the router. This worked fine for internet, but I couldn't access the main network (just computers attached to the DI-624 network).

So I disabled DHCP (turning the router into a switch I guess). Works great, all computers (even wireless - after some tweaking) connect to both the internet and main network.

BUT, now I cannot get to the DI-624 CONFIGURATION. I have tried all sorts of IP addresses, looked at the default gateway (tried that address), just can't get back to it?

I'm in not stressing too much because it works, but I can't change any settings anymore?

I bought a Toshiba laptop last week from Best Buy. I am experiencing a strange problem with the internet screens minimizing constantly. I took it in to BB and they reinstalled the internet 7.0, thinking it was the internet. Well, I am still experiencing this problem and it is terrible. The screens are minimizing constantly. Maybe I am not using the mouse correctly? It doesn't seem to matter if I am clicking on the scroll bar or even a link in the middle of the page. The whole page closes, and is on the bottom. What is going on here???? I can't get any work done, it is so bad. PLEASE any suggestions?????????????????

I have a Actiontec router w/ verizon fios. I want to set up the wifi connections with it. I also have a netgear wg111 set up with my other desktop computer. if that helps.... I search for my acess point and i see it, enter my password, and then then connnection test fails. I get the error code 52030 or something like that... I really wanna set it up. PLease help me!!!!

I have a sprint wireless card for internet access and want to connect the slingbox so that i can leave the laptop at home and access slingbox elsewhere via the internet. when i try to set-up remote viewing, it doesn't allow this. I'm on dialup, I connect at 26.4k and have a great pc at home. So while I do get into SL and find that things do eventually load, it usually takes me several minutes to respond to anything. I heard about SL viewers, so I went looking. Found one called SLeek....... what does a viewer do exactly? It seems to me all I can see is the text, and if all I wanted was text I could visit most any chat. Even though I have dialup, and can't do much, I still want to be able to use avatar chat. Any advice on which Second Life viewer will work for me and allow me to be in world and see something besides just text? Thank you very much :)

Hi,
Got the Netgear Router from Sky, set it up using the cd. All worked fine until a minute later when the internet cut off but the internet light on the router stayed solid green. Now if i want to get on to the internet, but only for a minute, i have to turn it off for about an hour and then turn it back on, except the same thing happens :S. Please helpp me!! The router is a netgear DG834GT. Another weird thing today was that when i got home the power light on the router was not on, just the number 1 was lit (my computer port).

I have a Dell Inspiron E1700 2.0 GHz Intel Dual Core processor with 1 GB of ram and a 7200 rpm hard drive and I just installed Office 2007 on it. All the programs seem to run a little slow, but Excel is ridiculous! I can barely get anything done. If I try to make the contents of a cell bold, I have to wait about 30 seconds from the time that I hit the bold key to the time that it actually turns bold. Same with underlining, inserting rows/columns, copying, pasting. I reinstalled it once already to see if that fixed it, but it didn't. Is anyone else having this problem or does anyone know how to speed it up?

So i am trying to make a network, the modem is a speedstream 5100, and network link is a Netgear 8 port. when i link the two computer together one gets internet and the other gets a windows error, and its IP is all 0's. i tired making a network from the network places, set up a small home or office network. that didnt work. Can anyone help me so that both computers are connected? and i did call the companies, both didnt help at all and want money. they can go f*#$ themselves.

a couple of months ago, i bought a computer from best buy off the floor. when i turn it on, the best buy program that gives you information about the computer, details, etc. comes up. it still has all of the bestbuy programs and i think one of them deletes all of the new files that are installed in the computer when it is turned off. i tried deleting anything that was related to best buy, but everytime i would turn off my computer it still deleted my files (i installed aim and that was gone, along with pictures and mozilla). does anyone know the name of the file which i should be deleting to stop my computer from deleting everything?

I was reading through my local computer store's flyer, and there was a little tidbit of information about how to build a good gaming computer and it said I should get 4GB of RAM and a quad-core processor. I know you need a lot of ram and a good processor, but quad core? 4GB? How true is this?
