Sky brodband router problem?! HELP!?

Hi,
Got the Netgear Router from Sky, set it up using the cd. All worked fine until a minute later when the internet cut off but the internet light on the router stayed solid green. Now if i want to get on to the internet, but only for a minute, i have to turn it off for about an hour and then turn it back on, except the same thing happens :S. Please helpp me!! The router is a netgear DG834GT. Another weird thing today was that when i got home the power light on the router was not on, just the number 1 was lit (my computer port).

SOunds like a bad router to me. Return it and get a new one.
