Instead of turning them off every time you log on, open the ones you don't need and look for Options, Settings, or Preferences. See if there's an option to choose whether or not to start that program on login, and select NO.

Using a registry cleaner can fix your computer and then make your computer faster,Why?the reason is that there may be some regsitry errors and remnant, corrupt files and temp files in your computer to cause "computer slow".

u can stop programs from automatically loading upon windows startup in xp and some 2000 machines by running "msconfig" (start-run-msconfig) and then selecting the startup tab. There u can uncheck any program that u dont want to load when windows starts. you will have to restart your computer after you do this for the changes to take affect. Make sure you only uncheck the programs you dont want to load. Don't check/uncheck programs you are not sure about because they may be programs that windows needs to load.

Just right click the icon and then exit. You might need to defragment, or get a good adware removal tool. Don't forget to virus check! My computer had slowed down, I ran my adware removal tool and had 57 adware files and a virus..works great now.

Do what the previous ones said. After you do that, try disk cleanup, and also defragment your disk.
