hi my cd/dvd rom wont load up discs. iv went on my computer to look 4 it. but it is not there. please help cause i need to insall my printer for my homework

I installed Vista Ultimate over windows XP pro, and yes windows did keep the other version of windows files, however windows vista refuses to install windows xp pro my windows vista says that it has been blocked be cause of compatability issues, im was wondering if i formated the hard disk with a windows 98SE boot disk and CD-Rom, and the upgraded that to windows XP Pro My graphics card is a Nvidia 7800Gs 512MB said on box vista compatable any how i hate vista and i want it off my Beloved PC. Would the Windows 98se Format work...

My computer is old and it won't allow me to boot from cd-rom on the bios. I'm able to choose it as an option but it will not detect my cd. It is not reading my cd-rom. Is their any floppy boot disk downloads that can make it detect both my cd-rom and cd

I have a spare drive which I changed to NTFS believing that I wouldn't need a FAT drive anymore. I would like to change it back as I have a DVD that can access FAT but not NTFS I have tried just formatting it but it wont let me do it. Does anyone know if NTFS is possible to undo.

I have a fax/scanner/printer/copy machine, but I don't have a land line. Is there anyway that I can scan the document I need to fax and then use some place online that is free to actually fax it? (I am trying to avoid the $4 fee Office Max charges.)

i turned on my pc this moring and it kept shutting down and restarting and freezing and it wouldnt turn off when i pressed the power button on it, i switched it off then it came up dll kernel is need windows cannot start..... but now i turned it on and it worked how can i stop this happeneing again? or fix it perminantly

my 2yr old laptop just came back from the techs and they put a new hardrive in it and now i dont have various software like my printer, blackberry and digital recorder. I'm being attacked by a group of hackers on the internet! They're relentless! They have all of my personal information such as: Telephone, address, full name, cell number and even the information of my family! I get calls throughout the night and receive Korans, boxes, pizza, takeout food, and magazines by the truckload daily.

I've contacted my local authorities and there's nothing they can do!

I need to create a powerpoint presentation on Outlook 2003, just the basics: Creating a new message, some features, scheduling, etc. The only presentations I can find are pretty advanced. I would create it myself, but I am having a hard time finding screen shots and icons.

i have just done a scan with spydoctor and it came up that i have a trojan on my pc. when it ask to delete it i had to get the real one.
but about a hour ago i done a scan with spybolt and it never came up with nothink. with in that hour i have not been on my pc.
so y is it that same scans pick it up and the others dont ( dont get it)
i think the freebies ones done pick up as much as if you broght the real ones so can anyone tell me if there is a free trojan scan for free (no avg or any others as i have try them)

I recently found an ACER external CD-RW drive, and remembered that I have a bunch of hard drives lying around. I got the idea of replacing the CD burner (which happens to be an IDE standard drive) for one of the hard drives that i have, and connecting it to my computer, turning it into an external hard drive. I'm wondering if anybody has done this before, and how can I manage to do this feat.
