I set desktop clock by selecting the time, then "apply" then "ok." Within a few days it's way off. Help!!!

Verify you have the correct time zone set. In the window where you changed the time there is a tab at the top for Time Zone. Click it and set the correct one. Also check the box at the bottom if you lie in an area that observes Daylight Savings time.

New computer or old? Are you over or underclocking?

If old computer, your CMOS battery may be dead. If new computer, either you have been fiddling with the system clocking, or something is seriously wrong.
