my 2yr old laptop just came back from the techs and they put a new hardrive in it and now i dont have various software like my printer, blackberry and digital recorder. The digital recorder download is asking for a serial number that i no longer have. What can I do? I have a conference recorded that i can not download.

Generally the serial number is on the installation media or if you downloaded the software it will be in an email. You could try contacting the vendor that you purchased the software from to see if they can provide you with another key.
If the software was bundled with your recovery CD, you could poke around on there to see if the software is setup to auto-install with the serial number pre-populated.
