I'm trying to reinstall it after having Linux on it. It shuts down when it gets to the setup files being copied, it shuts down. What can I do? I've tried several times

I just updaed to windows vista on my HP. i hate it.. everything is HUGE! and it wont let me make it smaller... cans oeone help me... my screen res. wont budge..... can someone help me make it smaller.. or get me back to XP... i dont have any CDs.... do i need driver.. can i get them online.. and i dont have a system restore point set.. and it keeps beeping from like the computer!!!HELP!!

I have just built a PC, and when I attempt to turn it on the fans and lights come on for a split second and immediately turn back off. I have attached the HD, DVD drive, all the fans and lights. I have the MOBO LED on. I checked the BIOS jumper and all my connections. Thought it was the power supply so I go a new one and the same thing still happens. I haven't put the video card in yet would that matter?

About 2 hours ago none of my main programs were working and i got security warnings from norton saying i had a serious virus threat(trojan horse) I ran a full system scan. It detected it then said it could not be fixed. It says it is in the quarentine folder. I logged on a couple hours later(now) and everything is working fine. Is my computer okay?

I know that technically the answer is yes if you do not follow standards. The telephones use two of the 8 wires and the internet uses only 4. The question is would the two services cause too much signal degregation in the wire?

I have a laptop that's about two and a half years old. It is out of warranty, but still works fine and is in pretty good physical condition. I was planning on giving it to a friend who needed one but she might be buying her own now and won't need it. Are there places that buy old laptops? If not how do I properly dispose of it?

Since how I've just blew $200 on a wireless router yet no one will help me set it up, I'm now trying to get some answers on how to set up my new laptop to have the internet wired.

I have AOL Broadband via a ADSL Modem (BT Voyager 100) connected to my desktop pc.

I bought a laptop today, and want to set it up to have the internet, how do I do it? I dont need another modem do I?

I want to create a wireless LAN network with a house in a different street to me. It is approximately 2 minutes walk to get to this other house. Now creating a wired network is not possible as it would be illegal to have a wire just going across roads and streets.
What equipment would i need to create this network? what does each pc need to have and what networks them together?
