I installed a new PCI video card and my screen is now blank. I took it out and put in the old AGP one and the screen remains blank. How can I make the computer work to at least see what is going on?

Some computers have settings in the BIOS that need to be changed. Depending on the brand of computer/BIOS, you'll need to hit either ESC, DEL, F2 or some other key at the very first screen you see. Of course, the frist thing you need is to get SOME video back so you can do this. I'd try reseating the old AGP card. AGP can be tricky sometimes, just make sure it is pushed all the way in the slot. Hopefully then your video comes back. If it does, go in to BIOS and look for an advanced or peripheral menu. Find something that says Video. It should have options such as AGP, PCI, Auto. Selecting either Auto or PCI should work. Then save and reboot. Replace the PCI card and try it out. Good luck!

The PCI slot may have accumulated dust for sometime. Try cleaning it with a small brush then reseat the PCI video card thrice.
But take note that the PCI bus is SLOW for 3D graphics. PCI slot will just slowdown any good graphics card.
