I have McAfee, so do I need Windows Defender?

That pretty much depends on just which McAfee that you have. McAfee anti-virus or McAfee Internet Security Suite?

Defender is an anti-spyware only, so if all you have is McAfee Anti-Virus, then Defender is an excellent and much needed addition.

You can only run one antivirus or you will have serious conflict with your system. if McAfee, antispyware you can run three or four as one will find what the other ones miss.

You don't say if McAfee, antivirus or antispyware.

If you prefer not to pay and wish to have a free antivirus program download the free AOL Active Virus Shield, powered by Karpersky engine Russia.

well, it depends.
If you have McAfee VirusScan with the anti-spyware included, no.
Windows Defender isn't that good anyways. It has a good scanning system, but it's real time isn't good.
Use SpyBot search and destroy.

You need an antispyware program to complement your antivorus program. MS Defender is an antispyware program while the McAfee is antivirus program.

Yes!

No matter if it has an Anti-spyware component, you should always have more than 1 antispyware program. You should also consider putting on Spybot: Search and Destroy (www.safer-networking.org or punch spybot into Google).
